Privacy policy.

Your numbers never leave your device.

Every calculation on this site runs entirely in your browser. The wage, hours, income, and filing-status values you enter are never transmitted to our servers, stored by us, or shared with anyone. The "copy shareable link" feature encodes your inputs into the URL only when you use it, sharing that link is your choice.

What we collect.

We do not require accounts and we never ask for your name, income, or any tax details. The only place we collect anything you write is the contact page: if you email us or submit the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to put in that message. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, request URL, user agent) for security and operations, as virtually all web hosts do.

Analytics and cookies.

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit and roughly where they come from, so we know which guides are worth expanding. It reports aggregate traffic, never anything you type into the calculator. To do this it sets its own cookies in your browser and sends page view data to Google, handled under Google's privacy policy. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. You can opt out with Google's browser opt-out add-on, a tracker-blocking extension, or your browser's Do Not Track and cookie controls. Blocking it does not affect the calculator: everything still works, because the maths runs entirely on your device either way.

Third parties.

The site serves no third-party advertising and embeds no social widgets. Besides Google Analytics described above, there is one third-party embed: the contact form on our contact page is a Google Form, so submissions and any cookies it sets are handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. That embed loads only on the contact page, and emailing us instead keeps Google out of it entirely. Outbound links (IRS.gov, DOL.gov, state agencies) are governed by those sites' own policies. If we ever add another privacy-relevant service, this policy is updated first and the change is dated on our updates page.
